First Communion Final Review – Bible Study
Lesson Objective: The lesson objective is that that each student will be able to identify each icon with the key word as a summary of their preparation to receive their first Communion. Each key word is coupled with a pastoral interview question they will be asked to answer at the Lock-in.
Group Leader: The student handout does not have the questions. During the group time, provide the question for the students to write next to the key word (LAW) then review the bible reference and belief statement. If time allows, invite one student attempt to put the bible reference and belief statement in their own words. Remind them that at the First Communion Lock-in they will receive an icon with the corresponding questions for them to answer.
LAW: How does the law prepare us for first Communion?
Bible Reference: Hearing the Word of God, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23, prepares me to receive my first Communion.
Belief Statement: Using the Law as a personal mirror, I believe I am sinner in need of God’s forgiveness.
Grace: What is grace?
